Volunteer Opportunities

The Texas Bighorn Society is an all-volunteer organization. We have no paid employees, and as such, we are constantly in need of our membership pitching in for the cause of returning desert bighorns to the mountains of Texas. This work varies from backcountry construction of water projects, the promotion of our organization and cause from our booth at various shows, logistical and physical support of various bighorn related TP&W projects, to organizing and managing our annual “Round-Up” fundraiser. This personal commitment assures that the absolute maximum benefit is achieved from donations to our organization, and is also a great way to meet the people of TBS and to learn more about our efforts!
Some upcoming opportunities to help are listed below. If you can help out with any of these events, please e-mail us for more information, or to let us know how and when you are available to help by clicking here

Upcoming Events

The FNAWS Convention will be held in San Antonio on March 2 - 5, 2005.  Since this is our designated 2005 TBS Work Project, we would like to have about 70 TBS members help us show our "Texas Hospitality" by volunteering to help out with this event.  Free Exhibit Hall passes and special volunteer shirts will be available to all our volunteers.  Wednesday volunteers will be treated to an Exhibit Hall Sneak Preview Party.  We encourage you to volunteer and to attend the convention.  Registration information, and details about the event are available on their web site www.fnaws.org or by calling 307-527-6261.  If you would like to volunteer, please call Kathy Boone at 806-745-7783 or email her at kboone@door.net.

The TBS Roundup will be April 1st and 2nd, 2005 in Irving, TX.  We need volunteers to help set-up the auction tables and all other aspects of this event.  This is a good chance to see what goes on "Behind the Scenes", plus you will get a sneak peak at all the auction items.

To learn more about any of these events, or to offer your assistance or expertise in other areas, contact the people listed above, or email us at: information@texasbighornsociety.org.

We rely heavily on our members to continue the successes that have characterized the desert bighorn re-introduction effort since TBS became involved in the early 80's. Get Involved, and experience the satisfaction of being a part of bringing these magnificent desert monarchs back to Texas!
